In 2024-2025, along with Andrew Whitcomb, I developed a research project called “Gifts for Tempe.” The project explored relationships among humans, water, and plants in the Phoenix Metro Area, with an emphasis on Tempe, Arizona. Among different methods, the project included walks around different locations in Tempe, where we were exposed to the typical plants you may find in the city.

One of the outcomes was a series of comic books. The comic books were developed in collaboration with designer-illustrator Myeisha Syed. These comic books were printed with the generous support of the Desert Humanities Initiatives at ASU and the help of Daniella Napolitano to print them on a risograph machine.
